Brazil, represent!
By: Moka | July 17th, 2008
On the international level, Kaká has been relatively quiet, despite a rather impressive 22 goals in 59 caps. His debut was in January 2002 against Bolivia and he went on to play 25 minutes in the 2002 World Cup, in the group stage. Although he ended the tournament with a gold medal, I wouldn’t consider it an achievement in Kaká terms.
In 2003, he captained the Selecao in the Gold Cup tournament, which they ended in 2nd place, after losing to Mexico for the second time in the tournament, 1-0. Kaká was second top-scorer with 3 goals out of 6 team goals. In 2005, he was part of the team that won the Confederations Cup, with an emphatic 4-1 win over South American rivals, Argentina. Kaká contributed with 1 impressive goal, earning him his second international gold medal.
The 2006 World Cup started off well for Brazil and Kaká as he scored a brilliant goal against Croatia. (which I’ll never forget because it was the night of my graduation
) However, it was France Zidane who put an end to Brazilian hopes of defending the title.
After a very tiring 06-07 season, Kaká decided not to take part in the Copa America, which Brazil eventually won.
Goal #1: Another one of his amazing runs, after stealing the ball from Messi. (How many of those has he scored?!)
Goal #2: First shot hits the post.. then Dinho cross and GOAL! Definitely adds optimism to the Ka-Dinho duo.
Goal #3: Against a local home-country team. Clearly, they’re shit.
Goal #4: Typical..
Goal #5: Graduation night!! *memories*
That pretty much sums up Kaká’s international career up until now. He’s still only 26, with a handful of international tournaments coming up; Confederations Cup 2009, World Cup 2010, Copa America 2011, to name a few.
He’s got plenty of time.

thought id share one of Kaka’s best goals. a 70 meter run in a 10 seconds with the ball in his foot (not kick and run) and followed by Messi.
