€100 million?
By: Moka | July 20th, 2008
So that’s pretty much old news now. But for those who might not know, Kaká was linked with a €100 million move to Chelsea yesterday, with his spokesman confirming that it is very possible. Soon after, Kaká came out and confirmed that two clubs are very interested in signing him, and then claimed that all will be resolved when he returns to Milan.
Now, quite honestly, for all of you that are either excited by the prospect of him playing in Chelsea or worried he might leave, I tell you, he’s not going anywhere this summer:
1. Kaká is loyal and definitely not the type of player that would suddenly switch teams for any reason. Be it his wife (Sheva anyone?) or money (he gets paid €11 million a year until 2013 – Thanks Gianfranco).
2. ‘Kaká is absolutely not for sale’ – Milan.
Sure, Milan is merely in the UEFA Cup, and they’re letting Dinho go to the Olympics but not him. And surely, Milan is in dire need of rebuilding and could definitely use €100 million to wipe off debt and buy new players. Three very valid reasons for any player to move and a club to sell.
Then there’s the bringing up of the whole Sheva issue. But we all know, the main reason he left is because of his wife, who wants their kid to be brought up in an English-speaking country. I’m pretty sure Sheva is regretting that.
But it won’t happen this season. Milan held on to him last year, after winning the CL, a very good time for letting a star of his calibre leave. They definitely won’t sell him when they need him the most.
The rumors are bound to continue because we all know what the press is like these days. So don’t waste your time worrying about it.
For now, just enjoy your summer.

The English press have come up with an £118 million bid, and are reporting that Scolari has told Chelsea to stop at nothing to get him. Personally, I don’t think he’ll go, not least because Sheva is probably texting him on an hourly basis, telling him not to, but if the bids get very much higher I will start to wonder.

I don’t think its cut and dry. if Kaka’ had come out and said “Yeah, I’m staying at Milan, I know nothing about other offers” – that’d be pretty concrete. But he’s saying it’ll be resolved later? That sounds like someone who’s considering something.
Alot has been made about his loyalty, but he’s not really had a chance to prove any such thing just yet. This summer is a real test of that.

I stand corrected.. Thanks GF..
Penny; it would be crazy if they keep going higher.. I think it can reach a point where the offer is too good to refuse.. Like 150 million or something.. lol
Rob; That’s always the safest answer for a soccer player.. His spokesman was saying that a move was very likely.. I have no clue where he got that information from.. If he was to say : No I’m staying, then that would greatly embarass his spokesman. If he said : Yes I’m going then there’d be problems with Milan b/c as far as I know he hasn’t been discussing leaving with the board or anything..

He renewed his contract around February or March this year until 2013.. That’s gotta count for something..

i’m fan of chelsea but i beginning to hate them for this, money doesn’t buy success, i hope they fail
they are cuasing unbalance to what has been established

Moral: His spokesman is an idiot.
Moka, back in April, it was Sheva himself (ironically) who advised Ricky not to move because he told him what he has at Milan was special. Regret on his part much? Oh yeah.

Gaston, How in the hell is Chelsea causing unbalance to the market? Real, Barca, etc. etc. have been paying over the odds for players for decades. That doesn’t seem to have fractured the success or the excitement of the sport.
Also, this rumor is not anywhere near cut & dry. The quotes, the sources — all are at least somewhat respectable. I mean, Sid Lowe has been on this and he’s one of the best. Kaka coming to Chelsea is unlikely, but you can’t just dismiss what’s been reported thus far.Posted from

Jack, do those clubs offer 60 – 100 million to all players. chelsea wants everything for itself becuase of an owner who is hungry for champoins legue, the chelsea coaches are always under pressure to deliver
you don’t need all great players to win a tournament. the current real madrid team is winning la liga consecutively something the madrid of ronaldo, figo, zindan, beckam, raul, roberto carlos couldn’t do. chelse thinks only stars are the ones that can bring medal to the cabinet.
last but not least, a team full of stars is not good because not everyone gets to play, i would rather stay at place where i get to play rather than go place like chlesea and sit on the bench

The value of Kaka is that he is still young. He is a franchise player which justifies the large pricetag. i.e. you can build a team around him.

So the latest is that Chelsea CEO, Peter Kenyon, denies making any bid for Kaka.

chelsea has ALOT of top world class players that can give them champoinship if they play their cards rights, man like kaka isn’t needed imo for a team to be built around him
and why is it they always want players from other leagues, can’t they look in the premiere league

Gatson – I agree.. They only lost in the CL final to Man Utd by penalties, and I think they completed killed Man Utd in the 2nd half (OK, a bit of exaggeration there).. If Terry hadn’t missed the penalty, they would have been CL winners.. They deserved it more, based on the last game..
They don’t need more superstars.. They have depth and quality players and a great coach.. Why do they need Kaka, when they have: Lampard, Deco, Ballack, J. Cole, Essien, Malouda, SWP, Obi Mikel.. ?
They get players from other leagues because that’s what England does best.. They keep attracting foreign talent, and that ends up screwing the National Team over..
