Kaká <3 Milan (and vice-versa)
By: Moka | July 26th, 2008
Rumors suck. They’re a waste of time unless you really know the players/clubs involved. The ‘Kaká to Chelsea; a Real Possibility’ rumor, was complete B.S., but credit to the English press for making a strong argument that lead many fans into believing it was a possibility.
Gaetano Paolillo, Kaká’s agent (not the idiot ’spokesperson’) spoke about his client:
“Kaká has always been happy at Milan and he still is. He has a special feeling with the fans and with everyone. His family is happy at Milan. It’s normal that every year big clubs like Chelsea and Real Madrid make offers to sign key players like Kaká. When [Chelsea owner Roman] Abramovich’s offer came to light, Real contacted us to say that if the player was up for sale they would be interested as well. [Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe] Scolari has infinite affection for Kaká but regardless of this, for Abramovich, Kaká is the dream that is missing, Kaká is in his dreams. It will depend on Milan. If [Milan owner Silvio] Berlusconi wants to keep him at Milan it will be difficult for Kaká to leave. If a player is happy he remains in a squad.”
So, simply put, he’s going nowhere in the next 5 years unless Milan do miserably (not qualify for CL again) or if Milan go into debt and urgently need to sell a player to clear that debt. In 5 years, he’ll be 31, and that’s when I can see him move to Real Madrid or Chelsea, which would be a smart time to move, in my opinion.
However, if he does move before 5 years, I really can’t blame him. He’s won everything possible on a personal level in Italy and Europe, and on a club level, the only two cups he hasn’t laid his hands on are the Italian Cup and the UEFA Cup.
For now, though, Kaká <3 Milan and Milan <3 Kaká, and that’s all that matters right now.
