The Rise to Stardom
By: Moka | July 6th, 2008It was at the age of 8 that Kaká began his rise to stardom, joining the youth ranks of São Paulo. At 15, he lead the youth team to victory in the Copa De Juvenil; his first official cup of many more to come..

October 2000 was a month Kaká would rather forget, as it was the month he fractured his 6th vertebrae, causing great concern. There came a point where he was convinced he would never play again. Being the strong character he is, he came up with a list of 10 goals he wanted to achieved;
1. To play football again.
5. To be in the starting line-up for São Paulo.
9. Play in the 2002 World Cup.
10. Play for a big European club.
11. Win the Champions League.
A nice video of the above:
Fortunately, he overcame that injury and made his senior debut in January 2001. He went on to score an impressive 12 goals in 27 games, and lead the team to victory in the Torneio Rio/São Paulo with this fine goal:
It was the first time São Paulo won this tournament, and officially marked the emergence of a champion. The next season, he netted in 10 goals in 22 games, attracting interest from major European clubs. After making history with Sao Paulo, Italian giants, AC Milan, snapped him up for $8.5 million in the summer of 2003.
